Shop drawings are extremely important to the contract glazing and aluminum industry. The drawings show the contractor’s interpretation of construction document set in reference to the scope of work in contract. Shop drawings are the backbone to any project. A complete set of quality shop drawings will clearly explain the material you are providing and how it is installed, insuring that your project is handled in the most efficient manner. Quality shop drawings detail and document all requirements of design parameters, and are used by project managers for material ordering, takeoffs, fabrication, installation & erection.

Shop drawings will include all the necessary details, drawn in AutoCad to describe your interpretation of the CD set, for Architectural approval. The details will be generated from the Architectural Plans and your instructions per check list as to which System types to incorporate.

These sheets contains all the miscellaneous job information including: general notes, door hardware schedule, miscellaneous glass and glazing schedule, glazing details, revision schedule, general contractor information, architect information, job location, revision block and space for architect/contractor approval stamps and comments as well as other job specific information.

The floor plans are drawn to a scale of (1/8″ = 1′-0″) and contain the locations of all the work shown on the shop drawings. All work is keyed with elevation tags with sheet numbers for quick access.
The elevations are typically drawn to scale at (1/2″ = 1 ‘-0″). Typical elevations include all dimensioning, quantities, architectural references, detail balloons with sheet numbers, door numbers and door swings as well as plan view and wall sections when required.

The details are typically drawn at half scale (6″ = 1’-0”). Typical details include dimensioning, architectural references, perimeter building surroundings and notes (part numbers, by other designations, fabrication and installation notes) as well as any customer specific information.
